This course taught me the benefits of bringing technology into the classroom. Students can benefit greatly when they are given opportunities to utilize the tools which they are familiar with or need to be familiar with in a world that relies heavily on technology. By incorporating computers and the internet into lesson plans, the classroom extends beyond the walls of the school and their learning is enhanced. Technology also fosters the students’ imagination and creativity in assignments. I learned how to operate the programs that many schools have.

 My practicum for this course consisted of working with a second grade class on making a digital story. I documented their experience as book buddies with a local senior citizen home with pictures. The students then wrote their favorite part of working with their book buddy. I used reale books on the internet to create the book for the students. The students enjoyed seeing their pictures and words in a book format. They were especially excited about sharing the book with their families via internet.
