ericcarle.jpg

Eric Carle was born in 1929 in Syracuse, New York. At six years of age, his family moved to Germany, where he lived until he was 23 years old and returned to New York. Carle is very creative with his illustrations, as he uses many different forms. He fingerpaints, watercolors, uses tissue and markers. He cuts these up and makes collages to create his illustrations. He saves scraps and uses them for later use as well.
