This book is a historical fiction which depicts a young man's experience as a forced labor worker in World War II. He bravely faces many challenges and grows from a boy into a man. This coming of age story is one that will grip you from the moment you open it and begin reading!

 

I sold this book to a group of ten students at Tibbetts.  Woo hoo!

 

 

     Rebeckah, Tammie and I were successful in selling this sequel to Stones in Water to our literature circle. We were surprised to have finished Stones in Water so early, and told the students there was a sequael to the book. I have to admit this was a rather easy sell, due to the students enthusiasm from the first book. It was exciting though to sell a group of early teens on reading another book when I know they usually would rather be playing video games or hanging with friends.

 

 

     I sold this book to only a few members of our literature circle even though i gave it my all. I knew I was pushing the envelope by asking them to locate this book on their own and read it because it is so good, but I did reach two students. In the grand scheme of things, I did sell the book though.

 

     Since reading this incredable series, I have sold several friends on this book. They are currently reading it and loving it. It is exciting that a movie came out just in time for me to have read the book then watch the movie. I am excited to see the next one too!

     Since reading this book, I have been selling it to anyone who will listen! My friends, instructors, and family members around the country! It is hysterical and a wonderful addition to anyone's library.
